What changes for the dog: the day has no shape, and dogs live by shape
A dog on a regular household schedule knows when the walk comes and when the people return. A dog on a shift worker's schedule knows none of that; some days the walk is at dawn, some days it does not happen. The dog does not resent it, but it stops predicting, and a dog that cannot predict waits at the window or chews the doorframe.
The long shift is the other problem. A twelve-hour day is fourteen with the drive, and a healthy adult dog can hold on for that, but a dog that has done it four days running is stiff, bored and overexcited on the day off. The fix is not a fixed timetable, which you do not have. It is two or three anchors that stay the same whatever the roster says.

The plan

For the early day shift, a full day at $42 dropped off when the doors open at 6:30 AM and collected in the 4 to 6:30 PM window is the whole plan. For a shift that can run late, tell the front desk before the evening window closes and the dog moves into an overnight suite at $78. For a boat, book the stay for the trip's length plus a night.
For the night shift, the afternoon half day at $33, in at 12 to 1 PM and out between 4 and 6:30, gives you five hours of sleep in a quiet house. For a rotating roster, buy packs rather than the membership: a full-day 10-pack is $380 and a half-day 10-pack $290; the $700 membership suits the household that is here most days every week. Cape Ann specifics
The Cape Ann specifics: a 6:30 door for the harbor, Sunday windows for a boat home, and the beach on your day off
Gloucester is a working port, and our 6:30 AM weekday opening exists partly because of it. Sunday is closed for daycare, but overnight guests can be collected or dropped between 8 and 10 AM and 4 and 6 PM, which is the window a boat back on a Sunday afternoon needs. In a nor'easter, any change to hours goes out through the app and the front desk at 978 491-5922; check both before you drive.
The day off is for the beach, on the right day. Gloucester's public beaches take dogs from October 1 to April 30 at the time of writing, Good Harbor on even-numbered days and Wingaersheek on odd. For a ten-minute run at an odd hour, the fenced Gloucester Dog Park at Stage Fort is off-leash with separate small-dog and large-dog areas.

What not to do
What not to do: guess the Sunday hours, let a long shift become a no-show, or turn the day off into a marathon
Do not plan a Sunday daycare day; there is none, and the Sunday windows are for overnight guests only. Do not let a shift that runs over become silence; a message through the app before 6:30 PM turns a missed pick-up into a booked night at $78. Do not buy the $700 membership on a roster that changes monthly without asking the front desk first.
Do not make up for four long shifts with a four-hour hike on the day off. A dog that has been idle all week and is then marched across Dogtown Common comes home lame, and tick season here runs April to November. Spread the exercise: a daycare day midweek and a shorter walk on the day off. And do not skip the evaluation because the roster makes a weekday morning hard; it unlocks everything else here.
