Dog walker cost in Gloucester: $25, $35 and $55 walks and the packs that save
Walker pricing is easy to state and harder to compare, because a 20-minute leash break and an hour on the trails are different products. Here are the three lengths, the two pack sizes, the factors that make one household's monthly total twice another's, and where a daycare day is simply the better buy.

Three lengths, one price each. The 20-minute walk at $25 is a leash break and a sniff around the block. The 30-minute walk at $35 is the standard midday outing for an adult dog. The 60-minute walk at $55 is for the dog who needs to cover ground: a young Lab, a working breed, a dog whose people are gone ten hours. Every walk is solo, led by Dogtown staff, with a photo and a note when it is done.
Packs change the per-walk rate. A 10-pack is priced at ten percent off the single rate: $225 for 20-minute walks, $315 for 30 and $495 for 60. A 30-pack goes further, about fifteen percent off: $637, $892 and $1,402. Packs are sold per length, so a household that wants a 30-minute walk on weekdays and a longer one on Fridays buys two packs.

What changes the price
Length, frequency and where you live set the monthly total
Length is the obvious lever, but frequency is the bigger one. One 30-minute walk a week is $35 a week. Five a week at the 30-pack rate is roughly $150 a week, and that is the household that should compare against a daycare 10-pack at $380, because ten full days of matched play cost about the same as two and a half weeks of solo walks.
Address and season set availability rather than price. We cover the addresses our team can reach between other bookings, and that footprint shifts between summer and winter, so ask us whether we cover your address before you plan a routine. A street that is out of reach in the summer rush may open up in January. We do not publish a travel fee; the walk price is the price.
The free evaluation is the one step before the first walk. It runs weekdays between 6:30 and 9:30 AM at 210 Eastern Ave, and it is the same evaluation that opens daycare and overnight stays, so a walking client can add a daycare day later without a second appointment. The key handover, the note and the photo carry no fee.

Which to choose
Twenty minutes for the puppy and the senior, an hour for the athlete, daycare for the social dog
Puppies and seniors: the 20-minute walk. A 14-week-old needs a bathroom break and a few minutes of world at lunchtime, not a march; a 12-year-old with stiff hips wants the same. At $25, or $225 for ten, it is the cheapest way to break up a long day, and it pairs well with a half day of daycare later in the week once the evaluation is done.
Adult dogs with a normal engine: the 30-minute walk. Most Gloucester households on a walking routine sit here, three to five days a week, and the 30-pack at $892 is the sensible purchase once the routine is proven. Dogs who need real mileage, a Vizsla, a young shepherd, a hound who has been indoors since dawn: the 60-minute walk, or a full day at daycare for $42, which costs less than the hour walk.
The honest crossover is around three 60-minute walks a week. At that point a daycare 10-pack at $380, or $38 a day, buys a whole day of matched play for less than an hour on a leash. Walks still win for the reactive dog who cannot join a group, the dog whose vet has cleared leash time only, and the household where someone is home most of the day and only needs the gap covered.

Cape Ann factors
Ticks, salt, hills and a hot harbor change what a Gloucester walk costs your dog
Tick season runs roughly April to November on Cape Ann, and every walk that touches grass at Stage Fort Park or the edges of Dogtown Common ends with a look over the coat. Our walkers note anything they find in the walk report; prevention is a conversation with your vet. In July and August, pavement in East Gloucester and downtown gets hot enough that a 60-minute walk moves to shaded streets or gets split, and the note says when a walk was cut short.
Winter is the other half. Nor'easters, salted sidewalks and iced granite steps make a 20-minute break the right call on the worst days even for a dog who normally gets an hour, and a walk after a storm often includes wiping salt off paws at the door. The published rate does not change with the weather; the length you book does, and the note says so.
Licensing is not our fee, but it is a real one. Gloucester dogs must carry a current city license, $20 for a spayed or neutered dog plus a one-dollar fee at the City Clerk, 9 Dale Ave, with a $20 penalty after April 30, and we need to see it at the evaluation. Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea license through their own town halls.
