People searching for dog boarding on Cape Ann usually want to know one thing before the price: what does the dog actually do all day and all night. Here is the honest inventory of a stay at 210 Eastern Ave, item by item, with what is standard, what costs extra and what you need to bring.
The short version
Every stay is a daycare day with a suite attached
The nightly rate covers the whole picture, not just the room. During the day your dog is a daycare dog: matched into a small playgroup, out on the turf yard with the pools and platforms when the weather allows, on the indoor play floors when a nor'easter is blowing sideways off the harbor. In the evening the group winds down and each guest goes to its own suite with comfortable bedding. Overnight, the suites are monitored around the clock.
Nothing on that list is an upsell. The playgroup, the exercise, the bedding and the monitoring are all inside the $78. Enrichment add-ons, grooming and the two bundles sit on top, and you choose them when you book online, in the Dogtown app or with the front desk. If you add nothing, your dog still has a full day and a proper night.

How it works at Dogtown
A stay runs from one window to another, with daycare days in between
Most stays begin inside a regular drop-off window: weekdays 6:30 to 9:30 AM, 12 to 1 PM or 4 to 6:30 PM, Saturdays 8 to 10 AM, 12 to 1 PM or 4 to 6 PM. Your dog goes straight into its group, so the first hours away from you are spent doing something familiar rather than waiting in a room. If you are driving to Logan or catching the Rockport line into North Station, the morning window has your dog settled before you reach Route 128.
The end of the stay works the same way in reverse. Your dog spends its last day in the playgroup, has a bath or a full groom if you booked one, and is ready at the window you chose. The Pup Van can do the driving both ways for $10 each way if you live in Rockport, Gloucester, Essex or Manchester-by-the-Sea.

The suite
Night is quiet, separate and watched
The suites are where the daycare day ends. Each guest has its own space with a raised cot or bed and a blanket, away from the play floors, so a dog who has spent hours in a group gets real rest rather than more stimulation. We provide the bedding; you are welcome to add one small item from home that smells like your house, such as a blanket or a toy.
Monitoring is 24/7. That is the fact we can state plainly, and it is the one most owners want before a first stay. If you would like to know exactly how the overnight monitoring works on the nights you are booking, ask the front desk when you reserve and they will walk you through it. Nothing on this page is meant to stand in for that conversation.
Add-ons
Bundles and à la carte enrichment sit on top of the $78
The Dogtown Classic adds $10 a night and brings a daily homemade pupsicle or puppy cup plus 10 percent off any grooming during the stay. The Dogtown Deluxe adds $15 a night for a gourmet stuffed Kong or Toppl, a daily treadmill or enrichment session, an upgraded orthopedic memory-foam bed and 15 percent off grooming. Both are per night, so three nights on the Classic means three pupsicles.
If you would rather pick and choose, the enrichment menu is open to overnight guests at the same prices as daycare: frozen Kong $6, homemade pupsicle $6, puzzle game $7, lick mat $5, supervised treadmill session $10 and the sniff room $7. A bath or a full groom for the last day goes on the same booking, and there is no evaluation for grooming.

What it means for your dog
The daycare day is what makes the night easy
For a puppy, the stay is a long daycare day followed by a nap in a quiet room, which is exactly the rhythm a young dog needs. Puppies who have done a few daycare days first tend to settle fastest, because the building, the handlers and the group are already known. For an adult dog the stay is close to a normal Dogtown week with a sleepover attached.
Seniors and anxious dogs get the most out of what the base rate already includes. Small matched groups mean an older dog is not asked to keep up with two-year-old labs, and a suite of its own means no one is bothering it at night. If your dog stiffens after long days, tell us at drop-off and we will keep the play to the right length.
