Is there a minimum or maximum overnight stay?
Owners ask this question from both ends: the couple who need one Saturday night for a wedding in Manchester-by-the-Sea, and the family relocating overseas for a month. This page explains how stay length works at Dogtown, what changes as the nights add up, and what to ask before you book.
The short version
One night is a stay; a month is a stay with more planning
Dogtown prices overnight stays per night, so a single night and a fortnight are the same service repeated. The suite is $78 a night and includes the daytime playgroups, exercise and enrichment and 24/7 monitoring. Nothing on the published price list sets a floor or a ceiling on nights. What changes with length is preparation: food, grooming timing and how much notice you give in busy weeks.
Because the terms for very long stays and for holiday bookings are not printed on the price list, the honest answer for those is to ask. The front desk confirms the current terms when you book, and if anything about a long stay works differently, that is where you will hear it. We would rather you ask twice than assume once.

How it works at Dogtown
What changes as one night becomes two weeks
The day is the same however long the stay: a matched playgroup of 7 to 10 dogs from the morning window, meals from the food you packed, and a quiet suite with comfortable bedding at night. Over a longer stay the bundles earn their keep. The Dogtown Classic at $10 a night adds a daily homemade pupsicle or puppy cup and 10 percent off grooming; the Deluxe at $15 adds a stuffed Kong or Toppl, a daily treadmill or enrichment session, an orthopedic memory-foam bed and 15 percent off grooming.
Grooming is the practical upgrade for stays past a week. A bath or a full groom can be booked before pick-up, and the bundle discount applies. Book the next grooming appointment at pick-up and you save $5 on it. For a stay of a month, ask the front desk whether a mid-stay groom and a second delivery of food from you make sense.

What it means for your dog
Short stays test the routine; long stays reward it
A puppy should not go from never away to two weeks away. One night first, ideally after a daycare day, then a long weekend, then the trip. Puppies adapt fast but they are also growing, so on a long stay pack more food than the math suggests and tell us if the portion should rise partway through. Ask about the timing for young puppies at the evaluation.
A healthy adult with a daycare habit barely registers a week. The routine and the playmates are familiar; only dinner moves. For a fortnight or more, the risk is boredom rather than distress, which is what the enrichment add-ons are for: a puzzle game at $7, the sniff room at $7, a treadmill session at $10. Rotate them rather than booking the same one every day.
Seniors do well on long stays if the stay is quiet, and less well if every day is a full one. Ask the front desk about a gentler daily rhythm and about the Deluxe orthopedic bed. Give us a baseline for water, appetite and stiffness so a change is obvious. If your senior has a condition your vet is managing, discuss a long stay with the vet before you book it.

Booking the dates
Book the holidays early and everything else when you know the dates
Cape Ann has a predictable calendar of full weeks. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year fill first; the July 3 fireworks and St. Peter's Fiesta in late June bring a second wave; and Labor Day weekend, when the Schooner Festival takes over the harbor, is the last summer rush. Unlimited daycare members at $700 a month hold priority for holiday overnight reservations.
For everything else, book as soon as the dates are fixed and plan around the windows: 6:30 to 9:30 AM, 12 to 1 PM and 4 to 6:30 PM on weekdays; 8 to 10 AM, 12 to 1 PM and 4 to 6 PM on Saturdays; and 8 to 10 AM and 4 to 6 PM on Sundays, for overnight guests only.
